![]() November Bertelsmann der Club released the anthology Zauber der Kindheit, containing Linda's article "Eine Kindheit in Kanada". This anthology focuses on the childhoods of international authors. Linda was the guest speaker at SAG's pre-conference for MATE - Manitoba Association of Teachers of English. October Linda was a participant in the Vancouver International Writers Festival. Her events included the panel presentation "Groundwork", focusing on research for historical fiction, as well as a mainstage reading, "Out Loud at Night". September Linda was a participant in the Winnipeg International Writers Festival, giving three readings and presentations to students in the Creative Communications program at Red River Community College campus. August Serbian rights for The Linnet Bird have been purchased by Magnet Publishing. June France Loisirs Book Club has bought French sub-rights to The Moonlit Cage. They will release it as La Rose Rebelle. Bertelsmann Der Club and Goldmann Page & Turner have simultaneously released the German editions of The Moonlit Cage— Das Mondamulett. May Linda was interviewed by Joanne Kelly of Shaw TV in Winnipeg. In Edmonton, Linda signed books at a number of Indigo and Chapters, as well as Greenwood Books and Laurie Greenwoods Volume II. She also was interviewed by Susan Jones for the St. Albert Gazette and by Frederick Kroetsch for Shaw TV, and read at Audrey's Books. In Calgary, Linda again signed at a number of Indigo and Chapters throughout the area, as well as at Owls Nest Bookstore. She was interviewed by Mike McLean for AM 1140 radio, by Adrian Morrow for Fast Forward News and Entertainment Weekly, and by Robin Thompson for Words and Books. She also read at McNally Robinson Booksellers on the Stephen Avenue Mall. April Russian rights for The Linnet Bird have been purchased by Hemiro Limited. Linda took part in the Ottawa International Writers Festival as a participant in Writing Life— reading and panel discussion with Susan Glickman and Martha Baillie. She was also interviewed by radio stations CFRA AM and CKCU FM. March Linda was interviewed by Erin Selby on City Breakfast TV. Audio rights for The Moonlit Cage have been sold to BBC Audiobooks. Greek rights for The Linnet Bird have been bought by Oceanida Publishers. McNally Robinson Grant Park hosts a reading and booksigning in Winnipeg, Manitoba, forThe Moonlit Cage. February Norwegian rights have been purchased by Damm Publishing forThe Linnet Bird. Polish rights have been purchased for The Moonlit Cage by Bertelsmann Poland. January Linda read an excerpt from The Linnet Bird at Out Loud sponsored by the Manitoba Writer's Guild, at the Millennium Library in Winnipeg. Linda signed another two-book contract with Headline Publishers in London, UK The Moonlit Cage is distributed throughout the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa Goldmann Publishers, Germany have bought trade rights to both The Linnet Bird and The Moonlit Cage Editions Plon bought French rights for The Moonlit Cage Woman's Day Australia has declared The Moonlit Cage their "Book You Enjoy" pick for the month of January News on The Moonlit Cage from the UK: - "Read of the Week" in WH Smith Travel Bookstores, and highlighted in the "Topical New Books" in the WH Smith High Streets Bookstores
