Fall, 2003

• Dutch rights for Mercy's Birds were bought by Clavis Uitgeverij. Publication date is set for Spring, 2004.   

• A Danish edition of Search of the Moon King's Daughter was published by Arvids Publishing in Denmark.   

September

Search of the Moon King's Daughter was awarded a Mr. Christie's Book Award Silver Seal in the Best Books for Young Adults category.

• Linda was a panel participant and workshop facilitator in "Boot Camp - Writing for Kids" sponsored by the Manitoba Writer's Guild at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Sunday, September 21, 2003.   

• On September 28, 2003, Linda was a participant in Word on the Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with two main stage readings and a signing for Woozles Book Store.   

• Tracy Howard of McNally Robinson Booksellers interviewed Linda for the September/October issue of McNally's The Bookseller.

August

Raspberry House Blues was selected for inclusion in the Toronto Public Library's Best 100 Books for Children and Teens.   

• An article on Linda and Raspberry House Blues appeared in Beacham's Guide to Literature for Young Adults, Volume 16. The detailed articles in Beacham's are directed toward involved readers who want to know more about their favourite books and authors; students who are researching term papers and book reports, teachers preparing classes; librarians building collections and selecting books for their patrons; parents seeking appropriate reading material for their children; and college students and professors developing ideas for curriculum designs.

July

• Search of the Moon King's Daughter was given a Starred "Our Choice" Award by the Canadian Children's Book Centre.   

Search of the Moon King's Daughter was selected for inclusion in the Calgary Teens' Top 10 Books list by the Calgary Public Library.   

June

• Search of the Moon King's Daughter was named an Honour Book for the Canadian Library Association's 2003 Young Adult Canadian Book Award.   

• Search of the Moon King's Daughter was released in paperback.

May

Toxic Love was released by Tundra Books. Originally entitled Saying Good-Bye, this is the reissue of the collection of ten short stories for young adults.   

• Linda was a presenter at the Montreal Young Authors Conference at McGill University May 21-23, 2003.   

April

• Winnipeg, Saturday, April 26 — Search of the Moon King's Daughter won the McNally Robinson Book for Young People Award at the Manitoba Writing and Publishing Awards gala, Fort Garry Hotel.   

Search of the Moon King's Daughter was nominated for the: Canadian Library Association's Young Adult Canadian Book Award, Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction and 2004 Manitoba Young Readers' Choice Award.   

• A lengthy article commissioned by American publisher Gale Group appeared in Something About the Author, Volume 136. The "Autobiography Feature" traces Linda's journey to becoming a writer from her childhood through young adulthood to her publishing breakthrough.   

March

• Search of the Moon King's Daughter was selected for inclusion on the New York Public Library's Books for the Teen Age 2003.   

• Search of the Moon King's Daughter was selected as a title for The White Ravens 2003, an annual selection of outstanding international books for children and young adults. It is presented by the International Youth Library at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.

Search of the Moon King's Daughter was nominated for the McNally Robinson Book for Young People Award and the Ruth Schwartz Children's Book Award for artistic excellence in children's literature.   

• Linda was a presenter at the Weaving Words Conference, March 16th - 18th, in Lethbridge, Alberta. She also conducted a writing workshop at the University of Lethbridge and spoke to students at Father Van Tighem School.   

• Linda read in Montreal, March 11th - 12th through the Montreal Association of Independent Libraries. She appeared at the Montreal Jewish Library, the Atwater Library, the Lower Canada College and the Montreal Children's Literature Round Table.   

• Linda was interviewed by Carlene Rummery for WORDwrap, the Manitoba Writers' Guild magazine. The article was about the Manitoba Writing and Publishing Awards, and, as a past winner and current nominee, Linda's reaction to the awards.

February

• Linda was presented with her 2002 Honour Book Award for Raspberry House Blues by the MYRCA Committee at the Canadian Children's Book Centre's "Prairie Party" on February 16th, 2003.   

Search of the Moon King's Daughter was nominated for the Snow Willow Award through the Saskatchewan Young Readers Choice Award.   

• Linda's career biography appeared in Canadian Who's Who 2003, Volume XXXVIII, edited by Elizabeth Lumley.

January

Search of the Moon King's Daughter was nominated for the American Library Association's Best Books for Young Adults 2003, and the Michael J. Printz Award for Literary Excellence in Young Adult Literature.   

• Kyllikki Anne Ruus profiles Linda in Linda Holeman: Manitoba Writer for Classmate (Volume 33: Issue 2), a publication of the Manitoba Association of Teachers of English.
